All the Books of 2015: Day 1

I saw this challenge on annreads account on Instagram (beautiful pictures, you should check it out) and I thought it was a great idea! Since I’ve already joined another December book challenge on IG I thought I’d make this one here 😀

Day 1 – First read of the year

Good thing this year I decided to make a list of all the books I read or else I probably wouldn’t know what my first book of 2015 was haha.

The first book I read in 2015 was The 100 by Kass Morgan. This is a Science-fiction novel set after a nuclear war destroyed the Earth. The survivors are all living in space but once an oxygen leak is found in the ship, the Chancellor sends a hundred teenage deliquents to the ground to see if the Earth is survivable again, and in exchange their crimes will be pardoned. But once they get there, they find out they’re not alone after all and they must fight to survive. They were never meant to be heroes, but they may be mankind’s last hope.

I enjoyed this book but I though it lacked something. Maybe the problem was that I kept comparing it to the tv show, which I love, and in my opinion the show is much better. I really liked Glass and Luke’s story though and I’m sad it didn’t make it to the show. Overall it was a enjoyable read and I rated it 3.5 stars. I made a review for my English class in 11th grade. If I find it I might re-edit it and post it here : )

“Liars. Thieves. Rebels. Heroes.” I really like this – I think it describes the 100 perfectly.
